How Cheesey

Three year olds are odd little creatures. Just plain bizarre...
This afternoon I gave Kael a little snack. Ritz crackers and cheese cubes. I turned around to finish the dishes and by the time I was done, I look over at the table and all the cheese cubes were gone and so was he. I thought to myself, "Ohh, he was hungry, I better see if he wants more cheese." I made my way down the long hallway only to discover him jumping on his bed, yelling at the TV, "Say cheese, Dora!" As he was chucking the cheese cubes at Dora's sweet, little round face. I just turned around and walked away...Ill clean up later.

Make me a Necklace

Ive been thinking about all the different changes 2011 has brought us. One of my favorite change has to be completely changing careers. Going from working in Early Childhood to working with people who are experiencing homelessness has been great for my soul. I'm learning so much about life and about people in general. Especially people in crisis and individuals who suffer from mental illness. I work 3 days and am off for 4. I love that I'm home so much more. I so enjoy the unique spirits I work with. I'm so glad I learned the lessons I needed to at my last job in order for me to move on to something bigger. (Maybe someday I'll write about all the super, great lessons I learned...lol.)

Today I pulled out some beads and showed Kael how to make a necklace with lanyard and beads. He loves art time.

Mae and Daddy

Having fun with Daddy at Kiddoz. As Kael says, "I love Mae's brown head!" He is so right. We love her brown head.

Kael is 3!

Happy Birthday Kael!!

You are a big brother, your favorite color is orange. You love vacuums, the numbers 7 and 5, and talking on the phone!

Happy Holidays

Growing up, the holidays were always about family and food. I love that Keoni and I are teaching our children the same.

For us, December is so busy!

On the 15th, I celebrated my 31st birthday...wow...how did that happen?

On the 20th of this month we celebrated Kael's 3rd birthday! His first gift he opened was from Grandma and Papa, his very first vacuum. He spent the remainder of his party vacuuming the floor. :) Now, when we ask him how old he is, he says he is 7. Sigh...not yet kid. I'm hardly ready for you to be 3!

And then 5 days later, Christmas. This year was a bit different for us. I spent the day working, while Keoni was with the kids. Kael scored a mini trampoline (and a tool set from Grandma and Papa), Maeli got a baby doll, Keoni made off with an android phone, and I with a vacuum!!

Kael however informed all that what he really wanted was 7 orange, balloons.
